How to bring your BoardGameGeek collection over
If your games already live on BoardGameGeek or in a spreadsheet, you don't have to re-add them one at a time. Export the list once, upload it, and we match every title to the catalog for you.
- Export your collection. On BoardGameGeek, open your collection and export it to CSV. Keeping your games somewhere else works too: any spreadsheet or tracker that can save a CSV is fine.
- Upload the file. Sign in, then drop the CSV in here. You can also paste a plain list of titles.
- Map the columns. Tell us which column holds the title, and which ones (if any) mark owned, wishlist, or your rating. BoardGameGeek exports are recognized automatically, so this is usually a single click.
- Confirm your matches. Review what we found, fix or skip anything unmatched, and the rest land on your Shelf as owned.
The importer reads game titles plus whatever extra columns your file includes, like owned status, ratings, or play counts. Columns you don't have are simply skipped.
Import questions, answered
Does it work with a BoardGameGeek CSV export?
Yes. Export your collection from BoardGameGeek as a CSV and upload it here. The BoardGameGeek format is auto-detected, so you usually don't have to match up any columns by hand.
What file types can I import?
CSV files. Exports from BoardGameGeek, a spreadsheet, or most collection trackers all save as CSV, and any of them work.
What happens if a game on my list is not matched?
Anything we cannot match to the catalog is listed after the preview, so you can search for the right game or skip it. Nothing is added to your Shelf until you confirm.
Will it bring over my ratings and play counts?
If those columns are in your file you can map them during import. If not, your owned list still comes across and you can add the rest later.
Can I import a wishlist too?
Yes. If your export marks wishlist games, they go to your wishlist instead of your Shelf.
Is my collection private?
Importing does not post anything publicly. Your Shelf is yours, and you control whether it shows on your profile.
