Cat in the Box is a trick-taking card game where players declare the suit of each card as it is played, introducing a strategic twist inspired by quantum mechanics. The game uses a communal research board to track played number-color combinations, preventing repeats and adding planning depth. Players predict the number of tricks they will win each round, earning points based on accuracy and board placement. A paradox occurs if a player cannot legally play a card, ending the round and incurring penalties.
